Charlotte, North Carolina
Casa Curva is an 11,800-square-foot custom modern residence in Charlotte, North Carolina, designed around freedom, fluidity, and a modern lifestyle shaped beyond rigid geometry. Meaning “Curve House” in Spanish, the home was crafted for European clients relocating to the United States who wanted a residence defined by movement, openness, and sophistication.
Organized around a serene central courtyard, the design introduces graceful curved forms throughout the home, creating seamless transitions and a continuous sense of movement from one space to the next.
The architecture balances flowing curved walls with more defined linear forms, creating a dynamic relationship between softness and structure. Curved elements shape key circulation zones, including hallways, stairways, and dramatic glass features, while complementing the straighter lines of the primary living areas.
Natural light enhances the home’s poetic flow, reinforcing the sense of openness and connection between interior spaces, exterior views, and the central courtyard.
The result is an open, unconstrained, and elegantly ordered residence — a sophisticated sanctuary that reflects the clients’ vision for a liberated modern living environment.
