Liquid Design was given the dubious task of designing a modern lake residence for the last empty lot in a well-established traditional neighborhood in Mooresville, North Carolina. The triangular, 1/2-acre lot opens to amazing views of Lake Norman and the design of the 3,600 sf two-story structure is optimized for entertaining and blending the indoor/outdoor experience with a large patio, a plunge pool, and multiple sheltered private balconies. The floorplan is hinged at the center with a 128-degree angle to remove all neighboring properties from the view. This simple gesture gives the small lot a private estate feel that is perfect for sipping cocktails after a long day on the boat.
