Completed in July 2023, the $90 million Montgomery Whitewater Park introduces a next-generation model for integrated outdoor recreation. Nestled in a natural setting, the park offers an immersive experience where visitors can paddle, bike, climb, run, dine, and unwind. As the latest evolution in re-circulating whitewater facilities, Montgomery Whitewater redefines the typology—merging environmental context with engineered precision to create a dynamic, all-season destination.

The design approach balances technical performance with user experience, addressing critical factors such as building placement, circulation flows, activity adjacencies, and visual coherence. Key architectural elements include the central River Center, boathouses, open-air pavilions, support structures, and a pump and control facility—all positioned to support approximately 3,500 linear feet of whitewater channels and swiftwater rescue training zones. Together, these structures create a cohesive environment that supports both recreational and professional use, while reinforcing the park’s identity as a vibrant outdoor hub.

Liquid Design provided master planning, program development, full architectural services, and construction administration.
