Montgomery, Alabama
Completed in July 2023, Montgomery Whitewater is a $90 million outdoor recreation destination designed around movement, gathering, and public experience. Set within a natural landscape, the park brings together paddling, biking, climbing, running, dining, and year-round recreation into one connected environment.
The project represents a next-generation model for active lifestyle design, redefining the re-circulating whitewater facility as more than infrastructure. Here, engineered performance, environmental context, and human experience come together to create a civic destination for both recreation and professional training.
Liquid Design’s approach focused on balancing technical performance with the visitor journey. Building placement, circulation, activity adjacencies, views, and site coherence were carefully considered to create a campus that feels intuitive, active, and connected.
