Retail at THE LAKE

Chesterfield, Virginia.

Although positioned as an out-parcel to the main focus of the development, The Lake - Retail Phase II is a dramatic departure from ‘typical’ out-parcel design. The series of three buildings sets the tone for the rest of the development, combining traditional masonry with modern materials and a cohesive color palette. The buildings tactfully conceal the functional needs of the retail and restaurant tenants along the main road, while creating a more pedestrian streetscape internal to the site. The architecture is carefully choreographed to exist within tight site constraints with complex grading and drainage design. The sculptural facade along Genito Place serves as an intuitive entry marker to the overall development.
